National Artist for Music Ryan Cayabyab just released “Kapit Lahat” a new song that coincides with the celebration of his 66th birthday. The song may be the maestro’s gift to the Philippines as it continues to struggle with the global COVID-19 crisis.
Cayabyab is one of the forces behind “Bayanihan Musikahan,” an organization that has raised over 68 million pesos in the past several weeks, by holding live concerts with some of the country’s top artists. Proceeds went to various groups including the frontliners as well as displaced workers due to the many canceled shows and productions.
Kapit Lahat is performed by the Ryan Cayabyab Singers featuring Celine Fabie, Nica Tupas, Katherine Tiuseco, Anthony Castillo, Poppert Bernadas, VJ Caber, and Erwin Lacsa. It speaks of reassurance, unity, and the hope that we will get through these dark times together. It has a catchy and upbeat tune but it does not fail to give you the feels as it reminds you to not let go and to keep holding on despite our many differences. Below are the complete lyrics.
