Barbra Streisand joins forces with Mariah Carey and Ariana Grande on “One Heart, One Voice,” a standout track from her newly released album The Secret of Life: Partners Volume Two.

Reflecting on the collaboration, Barbra shared, “One Heart, One Voice”. When the initial idea of finding a song for Mariah and Ariana and I to record together was first suggested, it was inevitable that in some way it would address female empowerment.”

For Mariah, working with Barbra was a lifelong dream. “Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve always loved Barbra so when I got the chance to work with her on ‘One Heart, One Voice’, it was an honor. It was a huge honor.”

Ariana also recalled her early admiration. “Barbra has quite literally always been a part of my life. I went to go see Barbra with my mom and we made it into the concert DVD somehow. We’ve come a long way from being in the audience to collaborating on her album.”

The song written by Walter Afanasieff, Jay Landers, and Peter Asher carries a strong message. Barbra explained, “The song was written as a vehicle for three strong-willed women, and when that regrettable Supreme Court decision concerning Roe versus Wade was made, the lyrics ‘we’ve got every right to make a choice’, particularly resonated with me.”

Mariah praised Barbra’s trailblazing legacy: “The way she’s broken through the glass ceiling. I just, you know, I really really look up to her for all she’s done.”

Ariana added, “She paved the way for women to be directors and to hold their own in a recording studio and be more than just the artist or the voice or the actress. We’re so lucky that none of us know life without Barbra in it.”

Barbra posted on Instagram: “Thank you to both @mariahcarey and @arianagrande for lending their talent and sharing this special moment with me.”
