Theater power couple Gab Pangilinan and Myke Salomon will star in the Barefoot production of “The Last Five Years” written and composed by Jason Robert Brown. The real-life husband-wife tandem of Myke and Gab will be playing the lead characters, Jamie Wellerstein and Cathy Hiatt respectively. The award-winning Off-Broadway hit musical will be Barefoot’s first international musical after successful stagings of Pinoy shows including “Mula Sa Buwan and “Pride Plays”.
The Last Five Years is an emotionally-charged musical that takes audiences on an intimate and deeply personal journey through love as it “runs its course”.
Told in two intersecting timelines, this musical explores the profound emotions experienced by aspiring actress Cathy and talented writer Jamie during their five-year relationship.

The show was previously staged in 2003 with Menchu Lauchengco-Yulo and Audie Gemora; and in 2014 with Nikki Gil and Joaquin Pedro Valdez as the lead characters. The 2023 production by Barefoot Theatre Collaborative will be directed by Topper Fabregas with musical direction by Rony Fortich, production design by Joey Mendoza, Lighting Design by Meliton Roxas Jr., and choreography by Delphine Buencamino.
The Last Five Years 2023 will run at the Power Mac Center Spotlight Blackbox Theater in Circuit Makati on the following dates:
