They will join previously announced Jeanna de Waal in the title role, Roe Hartrampf as Prince Charles, Erin Davie as Camilla Parker Bowles and two-time Tony winner Judy Kaye as Queen Elizabeth, all of whom will reprise their roles from the show’s world premiere at La Jolla Playhouse.

In a 2019 interview, David Ashley, director of the show’s world premiere says that “Diana very much centers around the marriage, which she called a crowded marriage because Charles was very much in love with Camilla Parker Bowles while he was dating and then married to Diana. So it really centers around that triangle between those three. Our goal is very much not to find villains but to figure out how these three people try to figure out a route through this incredibly difficult marriage in the midst of this white-hot media spotlight.”

The Broadway production will feature David Zinn’s scenic design, William Ivey Long’s costumes, Natasha Katz’s lighting, Gareth Owen’s sound design, orchestrations by John Clancy.
