Our very own Lea Salonga will be a regular cast of the upcoming “Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin,” HBO Max announced Monday. The television series is a reboot of “Pretty Little Liars” and the fourth series in the “Pretty Little Liars” franchise.

Salonga further confirmed her inclusion through a tweet on Twitter and a post on Instagram. “The moms have descended upon the town of Millwood! And we have secrets and lies of our own (can’t let the children have all the fun)! So excited to be part of the cast of ‘Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin!'” she said on Instagram.

Tagged on Salonga’s Tuesday Instagram post are Sharon Leal, Carly Pope, Elena Goode, and Zakiya Young, all of whom are also included, according to HBO Max. Like Salonga, Leal and Goode will also appear as series regulars, while Young and Pope are included as recurring characters.

Previously announced cast members are Chandler Kinney, Bailee Madison, Maia Reficco, Malia Pyles, Zaria, Mallory Bechtel, Alex Aiono, and Eric Johnson. “Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin” is a present-day iteration of the original series that aired from 2010 through 2017.

Twenty years after a series of tragic events in Millwood, a new generation of “Little Liars” find themselves harrowed by an unknown “Assailant” to pay for their sins and the secret sin their parents committed years ago.

Salonga will play Elodie, Minnie’s (Pyles) overbearing mother who works overtime to protect her daughter from her childhood trauma. Leal will play Sidney, Tabby’s (Kinney) single mother who works in real estate to provide for her daughter, and Imogen (Madison), another girl in town.

Pope will play Davie, Imogen’s mother, whose dark past upends her and her daughter’s lives. Goode will play Marjorie, a nurse at Millwood General who is hiding a secret that threatens her relationship with her daughter Noa (Reficco). Young will play Corey, Faran’s newly single mother who takes a job as a paralegal, though she tells everyone she is a lawyer.

Streaming on HBO Max, “Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin” is executive produced by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, Leslie Morgenstein, and Gina Girolamo, along with Michael Grassi, Caroline Baron, and Calhoon Bring as co-executive producer under Muckle Man Productions, Alloy Entertainment, and Warner Bros. Television. Written by Aguirre-Sacasa and Bring, the reboot is based on the bestselling books by Sara Shepard. Lisa Soper will direct the first two episodes.

Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, Salonga’s schedule is fully booked! Aside from “Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin,” she previously appeared as one of the presenters at the recently concluded 74th Tony Awards and will have a series of shows in the U.K.
