Walt Disney Animation Studios has dropped the first teaser trailer for Zootopia 2, the long-awaited follow-up to the 2016 Academy Award®-winning hit Zootopia. The teaser offers a sneak peek at both familiar faces and intriguing newcomers, bringing fan-favorite duo Judy Hopps (voiced by Ginnifer Goodwin) and Nick Wilde (voiced by Jason Bateman) back together. It also introduces a mysterious new character: a pit viper named Gary De’Snake, voiced by Oscar® winner Ke Huy Quan.

Set to hit theaters exclusively on November 26, the sequel follows Judy and Nick as they dive into a thrilling new mystery that shakes the very foundations of Zootopia. When Gary De’Snake slithers into town, chaos ensues, leading the duo to go undercover in unexplored corners of the sprawling animal city. Their partnership faces new challenges as they unravel secrets that will test their trust and resilience.
Director and Disney Animation Chief Creative Officer Jared Bush, who also penned the screenplay, promises a bigger, bolder adventure. “We’re thrilled to welcome audiences back to the wildly diverse world of Zootopia,” Bush said. “This time, we’re venturing into never-before-seen areas—from the marshlands of semi-aquatic mammals to sun-scorched deserts and beyond. Along the way, Judy and Nick will encounter a whole new cast of characters and discover deeper truths about their city, their relationship, and themselves.”
Co-director Byron Howard added that the teaser also debuts a brand-new track, “ZUTU,” performed by Zootopia’s own lemming techno group, LEMEEENS. Fresh off their tour with pop icon Gazelle, the band—featuring Hans-Peter, Gūnther, Spielt, and their DJ, Spaß—crafted the song specifically to celebrate the sequel and reignite excitement for the City of Zootopia.
Directed by Jared Bush and Byron Howard, and produced by Yvett Merino, Zootopia 2 will also include voice performances from Fortune Feimster, Quinta Brunson, and Shakira, who returns as the ever-glamorous Gazelle.
