Words + Music, the new docuseries from Gunpowder & Sky and Audible, premieres November 30, offering an intimate look at some of music’s biggest legends. The series features Elvis Costello, Sheryl Crow, John Legend, and Alanis Morissette—artists whose songs have shaped generations. Each episode pairs storytelling with performance, letting these icons share the stories behind the songs that defined their careers and then perform them live, either solo or with their bands.

Filmed on Amazon MGM Studio’s cutting-edge volume stage, the series transforms each story into a visual experience. As artists share their memories, the surrounding environment shifts, reflecting the emotion and energy behind the music. Stage 15 at Culver Studios, with its massive LED volume, 105 motion capture cameras, and ROE BP2 LED panels, provides an immersive backdrop that evolves with every performance.

Audible’s original Words + Music audio series has already brought together more than 40 legendary musicians, including Usher, Mariah Carey, Pete Townshend, Snoop Dogg, Eddie Vedder, Yo-Yo Ma, James Taylor, Sting, Chuck D, and Brandy. Now, the series comes to life visually, expanding the storytelling and performance experience. Produced under Audible and Amazon MGM Studios’ partnership, the docuseries is part of a larger effort to turn Audible’s rich content library into compelling visual projects.

The four-episode lineup launches with John Legend on November 30, Sheryl Crow on December 7, Elvis Costello on December 14, and Alanis Morissette on December 21—all at 9:00 PM ET/PT. Each episode delivers a mix of hits, new songs, and deeply personal stories, with visuals that mirror the artists’ journeys.
