Netflix is extending its stay at the Haunted Hotel. The animated comedy has been renewed for a second season, while its first season continues to roll out following its September 2025 debut.

Created by Matt Roller, the adult animated series follows a single mother of two running the Undervale — a hotel that’s not only haunted, but also full of opinions. Helping her navigate the chaos is her estranged brother, now a ghost, who believes the other spirits might have a few useful ideas of their own.

The voice cast includes Will Forte, Eliza Coupe, Skyler Gisondo, Natalie Palamides, and Jimmi Simpson.

Roller, whose credits include Krapopolis, Rick and Morty, Community, and The Goldbergs, sold the series to Netflix in a competitive auction and secured a straight-to-series order. He serves as showrunner and executive producer alongside Chris McKenna (Spider-Man: No Way Home), Dan Harmon (Rick and Morty, Community), and Steve Levy (Rick and Morty, Community). Erica Hayes (Rick and Morty, Carol & the End of the World) is the supervising director.

“I’m thrilled to be working with Netflix and an amazingly talented cast and crew to bring to life the stories of the dead, the evil, and the struggling hospitality workers at the Undervale Hotel,” Roller said in a statement.

Netflix’s Director of Adult Animation, Billy Wee, added: “Haunted Hotel is wildly inventive and I’m very grateful to Matt, Chris, Dan, and their team for bringing their talents to Netflix. They are phenomenal collaborators and I can’t wait for fans all over the world to experience this hilarious show.”

A premiere date for Season 2 has not yet been announced.
