Cinemagoers across the country are in for a petrifying treat as The First Omen makes its debut in theaters all over the Philippines. In the 2024 psychological horror film, viewers are introduced to Margaret, a young woman on the brink of taking her vows as a nun. But when she uncovers a terrifying conspiracy that seeks to bring forth the Antichrist, her faith is put to the ultimate test.

The 1976 Richard Donner-directed film The Omen laid the groundwork for a series that continues to haunt audiences to this day. It marked the beginning of what would become one of the most iconic horror franchises of the late 70s that would inspire a trilogy, a remake, and a classic TV show. The Omen “elevated the genre and tapped into the fears of its time” and “rendered the otherworldly so disturbingly familiar and tactile,” The First Omen co-writer and producer Tim Smith shared.
