Tickets for Matilda The Musical in Manila are now on sale at Ticket World. GWB Entertainment together with GMG Productions & Virtus Live recently made the announcement that the international tour of the multi-award-winning show is finally making its way to the Philippines for the very first time! The show by Dennis Kelly and Tim Minchin will start its Manila run at The Theatre Solaire on March 5, 2020.
The show is based on Roald Dahl’s novel published in 1988 which was also made into a movie in 1996. It tells the story of a special girl who uses her quite vivid imagination and sharp mind to take a stand and change her fate.
Matilda The Musical was originally staged by the Royal Shakespeare Company in Stratford-upon-Avon, playing to sold-out crowds from November 2010 to January 2011. RSC moved the production to London’s West End in October 2011 where the show continues to play to sold-out houses at the Cambridge Theatre.

As of this writing, the international tour is running in China until January 2020. Theater lovers in Manila got its first glimpse of the musical when it was staged by Atlantis Theatrical Entertainment Group (ATEG) in 2017.
