Far Eastern University is stepping into its Centennial era with unmistakable panache, unveiling four new titles under FEU Publications—works that blend cultural memory, institutional history, and the creative force of Filipino women. Each book arrives with its own texture, its own mood, and its own mark on the country’s evolving artistic and intellectual landscape.
Leading the lineup is NOCHE BUENA: 100 Stories Shared at the Philippine Holiday Table, the inaugural entry in FEU’s 100-book series. This mini coffee-table collection gathers one hundred vivid recollections from chefs, restaurateurs, food producers, and writers, each revisiting the emotional choreography of the Filipino Christmas table. Illustrated by Architect Isaiah Israel D. Susi—dean of the Institute of Architecture and Fine Arts—and framed by forewords from Felice Prudente Sta. Maria and Amado Forés, the book serves as a curated archive of tradition, intimacy, and culinary identity.
Maria Teresa Trinidad Tinio, FEU’s Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and head of the FEU Culture Collective, captures its emotional weight: “We did this because of the really wonderful and moving stories of the contributors to this book: stories of family closeness and generations of tradition, stories of the love of a mother or grandmother expressed through food, stories of struggle, hard work and commitment and eventual success found through a dedication to authenticity in food.”

The second title, RESILIENCE: The Roots and Rebirth of FEU Roosevelt by Gillian Joyce Virata and edited by Dr. Michael M. Alba and Genna Estrabon, offers a sweeping chronicle of nine decades of FEU Roosevelt’s evolution. The book highlights defining milestones, influential leaders, and the pivotal transformation that followed FEU’s acquisition of RCI in 2016. It maps not only the school’s past but also the direction of its renewed academic mission, presenting an institutional narrative anchored in perseverance and vision.
The final two books shift the spotlight to women whose creative legacies reshaped Philippine fashion from two different vantage points. In Love, Marina, author Vicky Veloso-Barrera, edited by Thelma San Juan, crafts an intimate tribute to her grandmother Marina Antonio—an icon of meticulous tailoring, detail-driven design, and quiet innovation. The volume blends personal memories, treasured images, and reflections from clients and family, offering readers an insider’s view of the woman behind generations of signature looks.
Finally, IT’S A WRAP Ditta Sandico: Unraveling the Future of Fashion by Francine Medina Marquez and edited by Gay Eiko Yoshikawa-Zialcita traces Ditta Sandico’s visionary journey—one that transformed weaving communities into thriving social enterprises. The book explores her creative philosophy, her commitment to indigenous materials, and her role in elevating local craftsmanship into a symbol of national branding and future-forward design.
