Chad Powers, a half-hour original comedy starring Glen Powell, debuted September 30 on Disney+ in the Philippines with two episodes, followed by new installments released weekly.

Inspired by the “Eli’s Places” segment from ESPN and Omaha Productions, the series follows Russ Holliday, a once-promising college quarterback whose career is derailed by a major mistake. Eight years later, he returns to the game under a new identity — Chad Powers — a quirky walk-on hoping to revive his football dreams with the struggling South Georgia Catfish.

Powell stars in the dual role of Holliday and Powers and co-wrote the pilot with Michael Waldron. The series is produced by 20th Television.

The ensemble cast includes Perry Mattfeld as Ricky, Quentin Plair as Coach Byrd, Wynn Everett as Tricia, Frankie A. Rodriguez as Danny, and Steve Zahn as Jake Hudson.

Powell and Waldron serve as co-creators and executive producers. Eli Manning executive produces alongside Peyton Manning, Jamie Horowitz, and Ben Brown for Omaha Productions. Additional executive producers include ESPN’s Burke Magnus, Brian Lockhart, and Kati Fernandez; Waldron and Adam Fasullo for Anomaly Pictures; Luvh Rakhe; and director Tony Yacenda. Powell also executive produces under his Barnstorm Productions banner.

Chad Powers is currently streaming on Disney+ in the Philippines, with new episodes dropping weekly.
