Apple Original Films premiered The Lost Bus at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), unveiling the high-stakes thriller directed by Academy Award nominee Paul Greengrass. The film stars Academy Award winner Matthew McConaughey and Emmy, SAG, and Golden Globe winner America Ferrera.
The Lost Bus will premiere globally on Apple TV+ on Friday, October 3, 2025.

Inspired by true events, the film follows a school bus driver (McConaughey) and a teacher (Ferrera) as they fight to save 22 children during one of the deadliest wildfires in U.S. history. Greengrass co-wrote the screenplay with Brad Ingelsby, who also serves as producer.
Greengrass, McConaughey, and Ferrera attended the premiere alongside supporting cast members Yul Vazquez, Ashlie Atkinson, Levi McConaughey, and Kay McConaughey. Also present were writer/producer Brad Ingelsby and producers Jamie Lee Curtis, Jason Blum, and Gregory Goodman.
Real-life individuals who inspired characters in the film—Kevin McKay, Mary Ludwig, Shaun McKay, John Messina, and Ruby Hartwig—were also in attendance.
The Lost Bus is produced by Gregory Goodman, Jason Blum for Blumhouse Productions, and Jamie Lee Curtis for Comet Pictures. Amy Lord and Lizzie Johnson, author of Paradise: One Town’s Struggle to Survive an American Wildfire, serve as executive producers.
The cast also features Spencer Watson, along with Vazquez and Atkinson.
The film offers a gripping look at survival and courage in the face of overwhelming danger.
