‘Peacemaker’ Season Two Unveils Premiere Date and Cast Lineup

Max has locked in the premiere date for Season Two of Peacemaker, the Max Original series from DC Studios and Warner Bros. Television. The eight-episode season will debut Thursday, August 21 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT exclusively on Max.

Created for television by James Gunn, the series stars John Cena in the title role. Cena returns as Peacemaker in a new season that promises to push the character into uncharted emotional territory.

Per the official logline, “In season 2, Peacemaker discovers an alternate world where life is everything he wishes it could be. But this discovery also forces him to face his traumatic past and take the future into his own hands.”

The returning cast includes Danielle Brooks, Jennifer Holland, Freddie Stroma, Steve Agee, and Robert Patrick. All five reprise their roles from Season 1, continuing the storylines established in the first chapter of the DC series. Season 2 also introduces several new cast members: Frank Grillo, David Denman, Sol Rodriguez, and Tim Meadows.

James Gunn serves as writer for all eight episodes this season and directed three, including the premiere episode. He also returns as executive producer alongside Peter Safran and series lead John Cena.

Directors Greg Mottola, Peter Sollett, and Althea Jones also helm episodes this season.

The series is based on characters from DC and is produced by Gunn’s Troll Court Entertainment and The Safran Company in association with Warner Bros. Television.
