Australian pop-rock band 5 Seconds of Summer have released their sixth studio album, EVERYONE’S A STAR!, now streaming worldwide via Republic Records. The album arrives alongside the official music video for their latest single, “Telephone Busy,” directed by acclaimed filmmaker Frank Borin, known for his work with Harry Styles and Zayn Malik.
Formed in Sydney in 2011, Luke Hemmings, Michael Clifford, Calum Hood, and Ashton Irwin have risen from high school friends to one of the most successful modern bands of the 21st century. Earlier this month, the band announced their EVERYONE’S A STAR! world tour. The tour kicks off in March with a European and UK leg running through May, followed by U.S. dates from May to August, including shows at Madison Square Garden and the Kia Forum. Due to high demand, a second show at MSG was added. The tour concludes in Australia next fall.
To celebrate the album launch, 5 Seconds of Summer staged a surprise pop-up performance on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles, drawing thousands of fans. They performed hits like “Youngblood” and “She Looks So Perfect” alongside new tracks including “NOT OK,” “Boyband,” “Telephone Busy,” and the album’s title track.
