A new spoken-word album, The Rocky Horror Show Like You’ve Never Heard It Before!, will be released October 1, offering fans a dramatic reimagining of Richard O’Brien’s iconic songs. The release marks the 50th anniversary of the global cult phenomenon and coincides with its current North American tour.
The project brings together original cast member Patricia Quinn—best known as Magenta—alongside Rocky Horror film co-stars Barry Bostwick (Brad Majors) and Nell Campbell (Columbia). Together, they revisit every track from the original film, including favorites like “Time Warp,” “Sweet Transvestite,” “Touch-a, Touch-a, Touch-a, Touch Me,” and “Science Fiction Double Feature.”
The concept for the album began during the 2024 tour. Producer Scott Stander said, “While out to dinner during our 2024 tour, I asked Pat to recite her favorite lyric from the movie. After hearing it with such emphasis and seeing the direct impact it had on her, I knew a spoken word album needed to reach the masses. I was elated to have Richard O’Brien’s blessing to produce it and was equally thrilled to have Barry and Nell join in. I hope it has the same impact on everyone as it did me.”

Quinn added, “I cannot thank you all enough for the joy you have given me through what is now known as the Rocky Horror phenomenon—the longest running film in cinema history, now celebrating 50 years! I hope this contribution adds to that joy.”
A portion of the album was recorded at London’s legendary Abbey Road Studios. The release is co-produced by Jacqueline Stander, with Sean Azoulay as associate producer. Engineering was led by Gordon Davidson, with mixing by Vincent Cirilli.
The Rocky Horror Show first opened on stage in London in 1973, and later made its Broadway debut in 1975. That same year, it became a film, starring Tim Curry, Susan Sarandon, and Barry Bostwick. It went on to become the longest-running theatrical release in film history.
The Rocky Horror Show Like You’ve Never Heard It Before! will be available on all major streaming platforms. CD and vinyl editions are available for preorder and at select tour stops.
