Fringeprov, the Philippines’ pioneering experimental improvisational theater festival, returns for its seventh edition on September 6, 2025. The event will run from 7:00 p.m. on Saturday to 7:00 a.m. on Sunday at Skinny Mike’s in Bonifacio Global City, presenting over 30 performances in a 12-hour span.

Founded in 2018 by the Philippine improv school Third World Improv (TWI), the festival was established “to encourage experimental or new ways to perform improvisational theatre formats in a safe space.” This year’s theme, Fringeprov 2025: Buong Gabi Comedy, continues in that spirit, offering a platform for risk-taking and innovation in unscripted performance.

Organized by alumni volunteers of TWI, the festival features acts by both student-formed ensembles and independent groups from the broader Philippine improv community.

Performances are arranged into four distinct blocks, each three hours long:

  • Block 1: 7:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
  • Block 2: 10:00 p.m. – 1:00 a.m.
  • Block 3: 1:00 a.m. – 4:00 a.m.
  • Block 4: 4:00 a.m. – 7:00 a.m.

Notable performers include Housekeeping Improv, Noted with Thanks, Same Bananas, Buwan ng Wika Improv, Improv Sessionistas, Hausmates, Malingap Beksters, and SPIT Manila, regarded as Asia’s premier improv theater group.

Audience members can expect both comedic and dramatic improvisation, heightened by the endurance required of overnight performance. “This energy heightens the fun of ‘Yes, And’-ing spontaneous creativity and experimentation—making the show a uniquely memorable experience for both audiences and performers.”

Fringeprov 2025 is co-presented by SPIT Manila and Sanghimig Performing Arts Events and Travel Consultancy, with major sponsorship from Ceres Juices, Culture Blends, Salonpas, and Dentiste, and the support of TWI alumni.

Tickets are priced at ₱1,000, inclusive of one free drink. They are available at ditona.me/fringeprov2025. Additional information is available on the festival’s official Facebook page: facebook.com/fringeprov2025.
