The original Broadway cast recording of Just in Time has arrived. Atlantic Records released the digital album August 15, with physical formats landing October 24. The album serves as the official companion to the Broadway production starring Tony Award winner Jonathan Groff as the legendary Bobby Darin.

Produced by Tom Kirdahy, two-time Grammy winner Bill Sherman, Andrew Resnick, and Alex Timbers, with five-time Grammy winner Derik Lee handling co-production, recording, and mixing, the album brings Darin’s biggest hits into a fresh spotlight. Robert Ahrens serves as executive producer.
Developed and directed by Tony winner Alex Timbers (Moulin Rouge!), Just in Time sees Groff step into Darin’s shoes—tracking the short, wild ride of the 1950s icon from teen idol to worldwide phenomenon. The show dives deep into Darin’s highs and lows, backed by an 11-person cast and a live on-stage band tearing through “Beyond the Sea,” “Dream Lover,” and “Mack the Knife”—all classics from Darin’s days at Atlantic’s ATCO Records.
Now playing at Circle in the Square Theatre, the production opened March 31 and scored six Tony nominations this year, including Best Actor (Groff), Best Featured Actress (Gracie Lawrence), and nods for sound, orchestrations, scenic, and costume design.
“When Bobby Darin recorded the standard ‘Lazy River’ in 1961, he wanted to present ‘an old sound made new,’” said producers Tom Kirdahy and Robert Ahrens. “Working with Atlantic, we are excited to do exactly that.”
“This album felt destined to be made at Atlantic,” added Craig Rosen and Michael Parker of the label. “Bobby Darin is a key part of our legacy… Having Jonathan Groff record vocals here, just as Darin once did, brought everything full circle.”
With a cast featuring Erika Henningsen, Michele Pawk, Joe Barbara, Emily Bergl, and Gracie Lawrence, and a creative team led by Warren Leight and Isaac Oliver, Just in Time swings hard—with Groff right at the center, channeling Darin’s swagger one track at a time.
