Paramount Pictures has released the trailer for Roofman, which is set to open in theaters on October 10, 2025.
The film is based on Jeffrey Manchester, a convicted robber and former United States Army Reserve soldier. He is known as the “Rooftop Robber,” or simply “Roofman,” because of how he committed his crimes. His method involved drilling through the roofs of his targets—mostly McDonald’s locations—and dropping in to carry out the robberies.

In the movie, Channing Tatum plays Jeffrey Manchester, a former Army Ranger and struggling father. Like the real story, the film shows Manchester turning to robbing McDonald’s restaurants by cutting holes in their roofs. This earns him the nickname: Roofman.
After being sent to prison, Manchester escapes and secretly lives inside a Toys “R” Us for six months. During this time, he survives undetected and begins planning his next move. Things take a turn when he meets Leigh, played by Kirsten Dunst. Leigh is a divorced mom who becomes drawn to Manchester’s undeniable charm.
As the two grow closer, his double life begins to unravel. What follows is a compelling and suspenseful game of cat and mouse as Manchester’s criminal past starts to catch up with him.
Roofman is presented by Paramount Pictures in association with Miramax, FilmNation Entertainment, and Von Waaden Entertainment. It is a High Frequency, Hunting Lane, 51 Entertainment, and Limelight production.
