GMA Network’s Afternoon Prime block is set to debut three new drama series this June: My Father’s Wife, Akusada, and Cruz vs. Cruz. Hermes Joy Tunac shared in an article for GMA Integrated News that a grand media was held conference on Monday, where most of the cast members of these upcoming shows gathered to introduce their stories and characters.

My Father’s Wife

My Father’s Wife tells a compelling tale of two childhood friends whose bond turns into rivalry. Gina Rodriguez, played by Kylie Padilla, and Betsy Morales, portrayed by Kazel Kinouchi, grow apart due to financial and lifestyle differences. Their lives become even more complicated when Betsy marries Gina’s father, Robert Rodriguez, played by veteran actor Gabby Concepcion.

The media conference featured key cast members including Padilla, Kinouchi, Concepcion, Arlene Muhlach, Snooky Serna, and Andre Paras. The series is directed by Aya Topacio and Dominic Zapata, and it will premiere on June 23 on GMA Afternoon Prime.

Akusada

The second new drama, Akusada, centers on Carolina Astor, portrayed by Andrea Torres, who is forced to assume a new identity, Lorena Herrera, after being wrongfully accused of a crime. The show explores themes of survival and redemption.

Cast members attending the event included Andrea Torres, Lianne Valentin, Benjamin Alves, Aaron Villena, Arnold Reyes, Marco Masa, and Ashley Sarmiento. Directed by Dominic Zapata, Akusada will premiere on June 30.

Cruz vs. Cruz

“Cruz vs. Cruz” unfolds the story of Ryan Cruz, an overseas Filipino worker (OFW) who leaves his family in the Philippines to provide for them. His life takes a dramatic turn when he marries another woman after she becomes pregnant. The show explores the tensions between two families connected by Ryan.

At the media conference, cast members Vina Morales, Gladys Reyes, Neil Ryan Sese, Kristoffer Martin, Lexi Gonzales, Elijah Alejo, Caprice Cayetano, and Pancho Magno shared insights about their roles. Directed by Gil Tejada, the series will also premiere on June 30 on GMA Afternoon Prime.

With these three new dramas, GMA Afternoon Prime continues to deliver engaging stories that capture family dynamics, personal struggles, and emotional conflicts.
