Apple TV+ hosted the world premiere of Smoke Thursday night at the SVA Theatre in New York City, as part of the Tribeca Festival. The nine-episode crime series, created by Dennis Lehane and starring Taron Egerton, will debut globally on Apple TV+ with its first two episodes on Friday, June 27, followed by weekly releases through August 15.

Inspired by true events, Smoke follows an arson investigator who reluctantly teams up with a police detective as they race to stop two serial arsonists. Their pursuit sparks a deeper story of secrets and suspicion. The show is a fictional narrative, drawing from truth.media’s Firebug podcast.

Creator and executive producer Dennis Lehane was in attendance, along with executive producers Richard Plepler, Bradley Thomas, Marc Smerling, and Joe Chappelle.
Smoke is produced by Apple Studios. Egerton executive produces alongside Plepler through EDEN Productions, Thomas and Dan Friedkin for Imperative Entertainment, and Kari Skogland, Joe Chappelle, and Jane Bartelme. Kary Antholis, who hosted the Firebug podcast, executive produces for Crime Story Media. Marc Smerling executive produces for Truth Podcasting Corp.
