Tanghalang Pilipino (TP) on its 36th season remounts one of its most critically acclaimed plays, “Ang Pag-uusig” – a Filipino translation by Dr. Jerry Respeto of the Tony award-winning play “The Crucible” by Arthur Miller.

First produced by TP in its 31st season in 2017, Ang Pag-uusig is a play that dramatizes how the establishment is used as a tool of the powerful few, exerting its magnitude on the many, preventing any sense of community and collectivity from being formed. The witch hunt that occurred in the play serves as an allegory, not only to the McCarthyism in the US but also to the current political and social state of the Philippines.
