The star of Food Network’s Supermarket Stakeout, Alex Guarnaschelli marked a special 48th birthday as she got engaged to her boyfriend of four years, Michael Castellon.
According to an online report by Ana Calderone and Claudia Harmata in People Magazine, Guarnaschelli revealed the way Castellon proposed, which took advantage of her gullibility to pull off the surprise.
“It’s funny, I think one of the reasons why we’re a couple, we’ve been together for four years, is because he’ll tell me anything and I’ll believe him,” Guarnaschelli laughs. “I get all worked up, and then he just starts laughing, and he does it all the time about anything.”
According to Guarnaschelli, they both had been planning a socially distant get-together with some friends to celebrate her 48th birthday. While on the road, Castellon pulled the car over, pretending to see a dog without a leash.
He then left her in the car to go and inspect what he had seen. He came back to tell her that it was actually a baby deer.
In the same People report, Guarnaschelli narrates, “So he’s like, ‘Shh. Come see it. It’s so cute.’ And I’m like, ‘We’re going to have to do something. We’re going to have to call the animal welfare.’ I’m already rolodexing the situation,” Guarnaschelli explains. “We tiptoe out, full-on tiptoe, and he goes, ‘It’s right around the windmill.’ So I look and he’s like, ‘Do you see it?’ And I’m like, ‘No, where’s the baby? You promised me a baby deer.’ “
Castellon finally revealed that there is no dear. She then turned around and saw that he was on one knee. He told her then that the reason why he has to marry her is because she just believes him every time. He then popped the question, “Will you marry me”? and gave her the ring.
The couple each announced the news of their engagement on their Instagram accounts, which featured the said engagement ring. The precious wedding band has diamonds and a massive emerald centerpiece which is a family heirloom.
The Chopped judge said that she and her fiance are not in any hurry, but she wants to have a Tri-State Rager blowout.
