Jagged Little Pill was met with critical and commercial fanfare. It sold 60 million and went platinum 16 x and went diamond once. It includes smash hits including “Ironic,” “Hand in My Pocket” and “You Oughta Know,” Alanis sang of the moody contradictions and frustrations of the era’s youth.
Incidentally, the album also has a musical adaptation currently playing on Broadway and is getting raves from audiences.
