Get ready, Broadway: Drag royalty Bob The Drag Queen is about to light up the Great White Way. The Tony-winning Moulin Rouge! The Musical just announced that Bob will make their Broadway debut next January, stepping into the role of Harold Zidler—the larger-than-life emcee of the iconic Moulin Rouge.

Bob will take the stage starting January 27, 2026, for an eight-week limited run through March 22 at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre. They follow Emmy winner Wayne Brady, who leaves the show November 9, and Robert Petkoff, who holds the role between November 11 and January 25.

“Being on Broadway has always been a dream of mine,” Bob said. “I moved to NYC almost 17 years ago to pursue it. Some roads take a while.” And honey, this road has been nothing short of legendary.

Bob The Drag Queen Set to Slay Broadway in 'Moulin Rouge!'

Known offstage as Caldwell Tidicue, Bob skyrocketed to fame after winning Season 8 of RuPaul’s Drag Race and hasn’t stopped since. From co-hosting HBO’s acclaimed We’re Here—which snagged a Peabody, GLAAD, and Television Academy Honors—to selling out comedy tours worldwide, Bob’s star keeps rising.

Their podcast Sibling Rivalry with Monét X Change scooped up both a Queerty Award and a GLAAD Media Award, while Bob’s debut novel, Harriet Tubman: Live In Concert, became a New York Times bestseller. Plus, they rocked Madonna’s Celebration Tour as Master of Ceremonies and even stirred the pot on Season 3 of The Traitors.

Bob recently joked on Instagram about their long Broadway journey: “Auditions for Broadway shows for years but never gets cast.” Now, the wait is over, and Broadway is about to get a whole lot more fabulous.

Moulin Rouge! The Musical—based on Baz Luhrmann’s 2001 cult classic—won 10 Tony Awards, including Best Musical. The show’s wild mix of romance and pop hits like Katy Perry’s “Firework” and Elton John’s “Your Song” make it an unforgettable night out.

As the show famously declares: “The greatest thing you’ll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return.” With Bob The Drag Queen taking the reins as Zidler, this production is guaranteed to be spectacular, spectacular.
