Maki has officially released his much-anticipated first studio album, KOLORCOASTER, under Tarsier Records. The 10-track album takes listeners on a vivid emotional ride through love, longing, and self-reflection.

This album might be the most challenging thing I ever did in my life but also the most fulfilling one,” Maki shared. “God knows how much me and everyone who helped create this project, worked hard and gave pieces of our hearts inside this album, this story, this world.

The album includes: Namumula, kahel na langit, Dilaw, turning green, Bughaw, INDIGO (with u), Nangungulila, itim na ulap, Abelyana, and ROYGBIV.

Leading the release is the new single Abelyana, a song that captures the nervous energy of hidden feelings and the quiet hope for something more. Written by Ralph William Datoon and performed by Maki, the track explores the space between friendship and romance—where feelings grow unspoken, and clarity feels just out of reach.

The song was produced and mixed by Shadiel Chan, with arrangement by Brad Coronel (keys), Abner Badua (guitars), Jonathan Jabez Lopez (bass), Cairo Peralta (drums), Maki, and Marey Garcia. Jan Agadier Fuertez mastered the track.

The lyrics open with a dreamy confession:
“Nakangiti nang mag-isa / Napanaginipan na naman kita”
(“Smiling to myself / I dreamed of you again”)

Then, Maki sings:
“Takot ako sa matataas pero kung sa’yo mahuhulog / Ayos lang masiraan ang ulo, hawak mo naman aking puso”
(“I’m afraid of heights, but if I’m falling for you / I don’t mind losing my mind, since you’re holding my heart”)

The chorus captures the song’s emotional core:
“Pasulyap-sulyap mong mata / Ano nga ba tayo talaga?”
(“The way your eyes glance / What are we, really?”)

“Pwede bang sabihin mo na / Kung may pagtingin ka rin sa akin?”
(“Can you just tell me / If you feel the same way about me?”)

“At kung malabo man / Pwede bang dagdagan na lang ng grado ang salamin?”
(“And if it’s unclear / Can we just add more grade to the glasses?”)

In the song’s final lines, the vulnerability deepens:
“At kung malabo man / Pwede bang tanggalin ko na lang ang salamin, para kunwari sa’kin ka nakatingin?”
(“And if it’s still blurry / Can I just take off the glasses, so I can pretend you’re looking at me?”)

Abelyana is a soft, heartfelt plea for clarity, connection, and courage. With its tender lyrics and gentle production, it stands out as one of the most emotionally resonant tracks on KOLORKOASTER.
