The musical opened last year at London’s Dominion Theatre and has since become the fastest-selling production in the theatre’s history. It continues to perform strongly at the box office.

Alongside the album announcement, a new single from the show—Miranda Girl—was released today. The track is sung by Georgie Buckland, who plays Andy in the production. The release includes an official music video.

The musical is based on Lauren Weisberger’s bestselling 2003 novel and the 2006 film adaptation, which earned more than \$300 million at the global box office and received two Academy Award nominations.

The West End cast includes Vanessa Williams as Miranda, Matt Henry as Nigel, Georgie Buckland as Andy, Amy Di Bartolomeo as Emily, Rhys Whitfield as Nate, and James Darch as Christian. The cast recording is produced and mixed by Giles Martin. The Elton John demos are produced by Matt Still and Kim Bullard.

“The subject matter of The Devil Wears Prada absolutely screams out for music,” John said. “It’s been one of my favourite films of the last 20 years… I’m always looking forward, never backwards, so it absolutely had to be a modern, contemporary score.”

The musical’s creative team includes director and choreographer Jerry Mitchell, with a book by Kate Wetherhead and costume design by Gregg Barnes. It is produced in the West End by Kevin McCollum, David Furnish, and Jamie Wilson.
