TBA Studios has officially released the full official trailer for Quezon, the long-awaited historical biopic starring Jericho Rosales as Manuel L. Quezon. The film opens exclusively in Philippine theaters on October 15.

Directed by Jerrold Tarog, Quezon marks the third and final installment in TBA’s “Bayaniverse” trilogy, which began with 2015’s Heneral Luna—the highest-grossing historical film in the country—and continued with 2018’s Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral.

'Quezon' Official Trailer Starring Jericho Rosales Released

The trailer offers a glimpse into Quezon’s political rise during the American occupation, following his fight for Philippine independence and the power plays he navigates to lead the nation.

“When his fight for Philippine independence from the United States is put to the test, Manuel L. Quezon finds himself playing the brutal game of politics to outmaneuver his rivals—including Leonard Wood, Sergio Osmeña, and Joven Hernando,” the synopsis reads. “In his relentless quest for power, he eventually faces off with Emilio Aguinaldo in the 1935 Philippine presidential elections, using charm and favoritism as both weapons and currency, in a campaign that ultimately changes the face of Philippine politics and history.”

Rosales is joined by a powerhouse cast: Benjamin Alves as young Quezon, Mon Confiado as Aguinaldo, and Game of Thrones alum Iain Glen as Leonard Wood. Familiar Bayaniverse faces like Arron Villaflor and Cris Villanueva return as Joven Hernando (young and old), alongside Romnick Sarmenta, Karylle, JC Santos, Jake Macapagal, and more.

Produced by TBA Studios with support from the Film Development Council of the Philippines and CreatePHFilms, Quezon aims to stand on its own even as it wraps the trilogy.

TBA Studios President and COO Daphne O. Chiu-Soon said, “We are excited and proud to present ‘Quezon’ to the big screen both in the Philippines and internationally soon. This project is a testament to our unwavering commitment to bringing the very best of Philippine cinema to the movie theaters.”

Special student and teacher ticket prices are on the way. The film’s international release will follow its Philippine premiere.
