Coming to theaters on June 18, Flower Girl is a new comedy that promises to be bold, hilarious, and thought-provoking. Written and directed by Fatrick Tabada, the film stars Sue Ramirez, Martin del Rosario, Jameson Blake, Maxie Andreison, KaladKaren, Donna Cariaga, and Mae Paner. It’s produced by The IdeaFirst Company, OctoberTrain Films, and Creazion Studios — the same studios behind acclaimed titles like Die Beautiful, Bwakaw, and Isang Himala.

In this daring comedy, Sue Ramirez plays Ena, a modern-day Filipina and sanitary napkin endorser juggling her personal and professional life. Her world takes a bizarre turn when she offends a trans woman (played by KaladKaren) in a public bathroom, insisting she use the men’s room. What Ena doesn’t know is that the woman is a real-life babaylan — a spiritual healer — who casts a curse on her. Ena wakes up the next day missing her lady parts and is told she must find true love to break the curse… or lose them forever.

Director Fatrick Tabada began writing Flower Girl in 2020 and never expected it to reach production. “This film is an irreverent comedy that tackles a very relevant topic: gender politics. But we made it fun, fearless, and fierce,” Tabada said. “We’re asking real questions like: If you lose your ‘flower,’ who will still love you? And more importantly, who are you without it?”

For Tabada, the story blends humor with depth, aiming to challenge societal norms through laughter. The film explores identity, acceptance, and how we define womanhood — all while delivering fast-paced comedy with a punch.
