Emmy Award winner Yahya Abdul-Mateen II stars as Simon Williams, an aspiring Hollywood actor struggling to get his career off the ground. Academy Award winner Ben Kingsley co-stars, reprising his role as Trevor Slattery. Kingsley has previously portrayed the character in “Iron Man 3,” “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings,” and “All Hail the King.”

According to Marvel, the story follows Simon as he navigates the challenges of building an acting career. His life changes after a chance meeting with Trevor Slattery, an actor whose most prominent roles may be behind him. Through this encounter, Simon learns that legendary director Von Kovak is remaking the superhero film “Wonder Man.”

The series centers on Simon and Trevor as they pursue roles in the film. Positioned at opposite ends of their careers, both actors are shown doggedly chasing opportunities that could prove life-changing. As their paths unfold, the series offers audiences a look behind the curtain of the entertainment industry.

Marvel’s newly released trailer and stills provide additional insight into the series, highlighting its characters and setting. The materials mark the latest promotional release as Marvel continues to expand its television offerings.

All eight episodes of “Wonder Man” will stream exclusively on Disney+. The series is scheduled to premiere at 6 p.m. PT on January 27. Viewers will be able to access the full season on the streaming platform at launch.

With its confirmed release date, established creative team, and returning Marvel character, “Wonder Man” joins the growing slate of Marvel Television series debuting on Disney+.
