The final installment of Samalamig Cold Readings Second Season is set on January 28, 2026 at Vault Speakeasy Bar Greenhills (inside Tittos Latin BBQ and Brew).
Submission for pieces to be selected to be performed in the show is now open until December 27, 2025 (Saturday), 11:59pm.

Interested playwrights can submit their pieces to samalamigreadings@gmail.com with the subject: [Submission] Title Name- Genre.
The scripts can be in English, Filipino, Taglish, or with a mix of any Philippine language, but must feature 3-4 characters and a runtime of 10-15mins. The full mechanics can be found in this link: bit.ly/SamalamigColdReadings.
Now on its second year, Samalamig Cold Readings invites budding, aspiring, or professional writers to submit fresh or WIP scripts, whether the piece is meant for the visual medium or for the stage, which will be performed on stage by audience readers together with the Featured Artist and then have a quick talkback session to hear technical feedback and audience insights after each reading.
The show’s second act features a short act-one play from acclaimed playwrights such as Jobert Grey Landeza as well as Carlos Palanca winners Eljay Castro Deldoc, Dustin Celestino and Hall of Famer Guelan Luarca.
In the Samalamig session held last September, the featured pieces were Libing Things by Rhain Alcoriza, In Loving Memory by Mae Malaya, and The Aswang by Randy Q. Villanueva; while the featured 2nd Act play was The Proposal by Jobert Grey Landeza.
Tickets are P800 for Early Bird (until January 27) or Regular/Walk-in rate of P1,000, with a complimentary drink. Scan the QR code or visit bit.ly/SamalamigColdReadings to buy tickets.
Started in 2024, Samalamig Cold Reading is an emerging theater space conceptualized and organized by Gelo Esperanzate and Carl Cuevas of PopQuizPH in hopes to encourage more Filipino playwrights to create more original works, especially Filipino plays.
