DreamWorks Animation is assembling an all-star voice cast for its next big adventure, Forgotten Island, coming to theaters on September 25, 2026, via Universal Pictures.
The animated film stars H.E.R., Liza Soberano, and Lea Salonga, with Dave Franco, Manny Jacinto, and Jenny Slate joining the lineup. The project is written and directed by Joel Crawford and Januel Mercado, produced by Mark Swift, and scored by Nathan Matthew David (Joy Ride, The Brothers Sun).

Forgotten Island follows lifelong best friends Jo (H.E.R.) and Raissa (Soberano), who find themselves stranded on the mystical island of Nakali, a place inspired by Philippine mythology. Their only way home may come at the cost of the memories that made them who they are.
“H.E.R., Liza Soberano, Lea Salonga, Dave Franco, Manny Jacinto and Jenny Slate are booking a trip to DreamWorks Animation’s Forgotten Island,” DreamWorks announced.
H.E.R., a five-time Grammy, Oscar, and Emmy winner, takes on her first major animated role following The Color Purple. Soberano, fresh off Lisa Frankenstein and Netflix’s Trese, continues her rise in Hollywood. Salonga, the Tony-winning legend behind Miss Saigon, Aladdin, and Mulan, returns to animation with her unmistakable voice.
Franco (Regretting You), Jacinto (The Good Place), and Slate (Marcel the Shell With Shoes On) round out the cast with their signature flair.
With Forgotten Island, DreamWorks dives into new mythological waters while reuniting the creative team behind Puss in Boots: The Last Wish. The result looks like a vibrant mix of heart, humor, and heritage — a journey audiences won’t soon forget.
