Netflix has renewed One Piece for a third season, the company announced during the annual ONE PIECE Day celebration in Tokyo. The live-action adaptation of Eiichiro Oda’s manga will continue its run, with production on Season 3 set to begin later this year in Cape Town, South Africa. Ian Stokes will join Joe Tracz as co-showrunner, writer, and executive producer.

Season 2 is scheduled to return in 2026. According to the official synopsis, the new episodes will feature “fiercer adversaries and the most perilous quests yet.” The synopsis continues: “Luffy and the Straw Hats set sail for the extraordinary Grand Line — a legendary stretch of sea where danger and wonder await at every turn. As they journey through this unpredictable realm in search of the world’s greatest treasure, they’ll encounter bizarre islands and a host of formidable new enemies.”
One Piece is produced in partnership with Shueisha, Tomorrow Studios (an ITV Studios partner), and Netflix. Based on Oda’s long-running manga, the series follows Monkey D. Luffy (Iñaki Godoy), a young pirate who dreams of finding the legendary treasure known as the One Piece and becoming King of the Pirates. He travels with his crew, the Straw Hats: swordsman Roronoa Zoro (Mackenyu), cartographer Nami (Emily Rudd), storyteller Usopp (Jacob Romero), and chef Sanji (Taz Skylar). The group pursues their quest across a dangerous and fantastical seascape, chasing the legacy of the infamous pirate Gold Roger (Michael Dorman).
Joe Tracz and Matt Owens will serve as co-showrunners, writers, and executive producers for Season 2. Additional executive producers include Eiichiro Oda, Marty Adelstein and Becky Clements of Tomorrow Studios, Tetsu Fujimura, Chris Symes, Christoph Schrewe, and Steven Maeda.
The early renewal signals Netflix’s continued investment in the series, which blends adventure, fantasy, and a loyal fan base drawn from its manga roots.
