BOGT Philippines is set to make history as it brings its award-winning production, 13th of September, to the prestigious 18th Mondial du Théâtre in Monaco this August 20–27, 2025. This marks the Philippines’ first-ever participation in the internationally recognized festival since its founding in 1957.

The critically acclaimed play has already made waves in Canada (2019) and Germany (2021, 2022), and this upcoming milestone marks its third international invitation.

Adapted by three-time Palanca awardee Eljay Castro Deldoc from Lanie Robertson’s The Insanity of Mary Girard, 13th of September is reimagined with a powerful staging by ALIW and LEAF award-winning director Riki Benedicto. Acclaimed film and theater director Andoy Ranay takes on the lead role of Mary Girard, alongside Lao Rodriguez and Drew Espenocilla.

The play explores themes of empowerment, injustice, powerplay, and mental struggle. It follows Mary Girard, now 56, as she prepares for her final night in the Pennsylvania Asylum. As memories of her past surface, she confronts years of betrayal and attempts to reclaim her voice.

BOGT Philippines is an independent, non-profit theater company established in 2019. Its mission is to bring Filipino performances to the world and raise the visibility of Philippine theater.
