Ballroom is more than performance, darling—it’s protest, it’s protection, and it is pure, unapologetic pride. And this October, the Philippines is turning the spotlight on. Welcome to the 2025 Manila International Ballroom Festival, where the beat drops for identity, resistance, and fierce self-expression. From October 8 to 12, Metro Manila transforms into the runway for a legacy rooted in truth, survival, and liberation.

“This is not just a festival. This is a statement. A sanctuary. A celebration. This is Ballroom. This is a culture.” Brought to you by the visionary minds of NA Creatives, in partnership with the British Council of the Philippines, and presented by the bold and brilliant The Red Whistle and MIBF, this five-day extravaganza is calling the children home. We’re talking documentary screenings that educate, panel talks that ignite, workshops that move, and two show-stopping centerpieces: the United Nations Ball and the SOGIE Kiki Ball. Can I get an amen?
Ballroom was born from necessity—a safe haven created by Black and Latinx trans and queer pioneers. It was family. It was freedom. It was a stage for the unseen. And now, honey, that same energy is lighting up Manila. “Rooted in resistance. Powered by pride. United in identity. Sharing our expressions.” The message? Clear. The mission? Fierce. From Harlem to the islands, the movement lives on.
So to our beloved global queer community and every ally with a heart that beats in sync with ours—Manila is calling. Come through. Bring your truth. Be the moment.
