Oh what a celebration we have today! The official trailer for Wicked: For Good has finally been released, giving fans a first look at the dramatic second half of the story of Glinda and Elphaba. Following the success of Wicked: Part One, this sequel continues the emotional journey of the two witches, played by Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo. The trailer teases both familiar moments from the Broadway musical and several exciting new additions.

Viewers will recognize snippets of beloved songs like “No Good Deed” and the moving duet “For Good,” which inspired the film’s title. Alongside these classics, the trailer hints at two brand-new songs written by composer Stephen Schwartz—one for Glinda and one for Elphaba. These additions signal a deeper exploration of each character’s personal arc and emotional growth.
The trailer also surprises fans with scenes not featured in the stage production. One striking moment shows Glinda in a wedding dress. In the musical, Glinda and Fiyero are engaged but never marry, so this visual raises questions about how their relationship might evolve in the film. Another standout scene shows Elphaba singing a new melody, likely tied to her transformation and inner conflict.
In a rare move, Dorothy appears walking along the yellow brick road. While her face remains hidden, her presence is more prominent than in the stage version, where she’s only seen in silhouette. She’s shown receiving instructions to retrieve the Wicked Witch’s broom, connecting the events of Wicked more directly with the story of The Wizard of Oz.
The star-studded cast returns with Jonathan Bailey as Prince Fiyero, Michelle Yeoh as Madame Morrible, and Jeff Goldblum as the Wizard. As Glinda becomes the adored “Glinda the Good” and Elphaba is hunted as the Wicked Witch, the trailer hints at rising conflict and political control in Oz. Familiar characters take shape in unexpected ways—Boq becomes the Tin Man, Fiyero transforms into the Scarecrow, and the lion cub from the first film grows into the Cowardly Lion.
Director Jon M. Chu builds on the grand style of the first film, with sweeping visuals and emotionally charged moments. He appears to be pushing the story beyond what fans saw on stage, adding more depth, tension, and cinematic flair. As in Act 2 of the musical, this chapter reveals how Glinda and Elphaba’s bond is tested and how their paths lead them to become icons of good and evil in the eyes of Oz.
And… we couldn’t be happier that Wicked: For Good premieres in Philippine cinemas on November 19, 2025 – ahead of other fans worldwide.
