In honor of Earth Day, the animated short film “Here We Are: Notes for Living on Planet Earth” brings a touching story to life, based on the bestselling book by Oliver Jeffers. Now streaming on Apple TV+, this 36-minute special is a celebration of our planet, designed for the whole family.
The story follows a curious 7-year-old boy Finn, voiced by SAG Award nominee and Critics’ Choice Award-winning Jacob Tremblay, who spends Earth Day learning about the wonders of the world around him. Guided by his parents, voiced by BAFTA-nominated Chris O’Dowd and Oscar nominee Ruth Negga, and a magical visit to the Museum of Everything, he begins to understand what makes our planet so special. The film is beautifully narrated by Academy Award and Golden Globe-winning Meryl Streep.

Produced by the award-winning animation studio Studio AKA, the film is directed by Philip Hunt and written by Hunt and Luke Matheny. Music is composed by Alex Somers, adding a rich, emotional layer to the film’s storytelling.
With its stunning animation and powerful message, Here We Are is more than just a film—it’s a gentle reminder to appreciate, protect, and cherish the only home we have: Earth.
