In celebration of the monster hit written and directed by James Cameron, “Titanic” will sail back to theaters this February.
Paramount Pictures and 20th Century Studios re-issue A Lightstorm Entertainment Production of the film starring Leonardo Di Caprio and Kate Winslet remastered in 4k 3D.
Written as a romantic epic, “Titanic” tells the story of Jack Dawson (DiCaprio) and Rose DeWitt Bukater (Winslet), who meet and fall in love aboard the ocean liner during its maiden voyage from Southampton, England to New York, USA in 1912. The film depicts the social class hardships faced by its protagonists, and the subsequent sinking after colliding with an iceberg.
The 1997 film boasts of many accolades and achievements including 11 Academy Awards, four Golden Globe Awards, two People’s Choice Awards, one Screen Actors Guild Award, four Grammy Awards, one American Music Award, two Billboard Music Awards, and 10 Guinness World Records. It is currently the third highest-grossing film of all time next to Avatar and Avengers: Endgame.
The film also stars Billy Zane, Kathy Bates, Frances Fisher, Bernard Hill, Jonathan Hyde, Danny Nucci, Gloria Stuart, David Warner, Victor Garber, and Bill Paxton and docks in Philippine theaters on February 8, 2023.
