Coachella is officially canceled because of the growing concerns over Coronavirus. In an Instagram post, Coachella organizers sadly confirmed that the Coachella and Stagecoach will be rescheduled at a much later date as directed by the County of Riverside and local health authorities. Organizers said that they take the safety and health of their guests, staff, and community very seriously, and added that everyone must follow guidelines and protocols set by public health officials.

This year’s music event scheduled for April 10-12 and 17-19 was supposed to be headlined by big names in the industry including Rage Against the Machine, Travish Scott, and Frank Ocean.

As expected, reactions started pouring in shortly after the cancellation:

Director-producer-actor, Bill Duke urges everyone to be deliberately safe.

Alan Cross, a broadcaster, writer, and professional music geek seemed not surprise at all.

Hannah is disappointed despite understanding the decision because she really wanted to see Frank Ocean.

A fan is happy that the events are not totally gone but will be otherwise rescheduled in October.

Images shared that April ticket holders will be honored in the rescheduled event and will be refunded if they cannot go in October.

Coachella October 9-11 and 16-18. Stagecoach on the other hans is now slated for October23-25, 2020.
