Another feather was added on this singer’s hat as John Legend is People’s Sexiest Man Alive. In a recent interview on People TV, it seems that he planned this to happen all along because he was wearing a huge pendant with the letters E-G-O-T-S-M-A. The letters referring to his distinction as recipient of an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, Tony (EGOT), and now, the Sexiest Man Alive.

When John joined “The Voice” to be one of the judges, his fellow mentors Adam Levine and Blake Shelton teased him that he should add SMA to his EGOT. Both Adam and Blake were former recipients of the same title.

In the same People interview, he seemed very happy and proud as he exclaimed: “I am the sexiest man alive!” However, John wasn’t exactly the same confident and alluring man in his younger years. Soon turning 41, he shares that he wasn’t the most mature and was a bit awkward because he was younger than most of his classmates.

It was music that helped him get his act together and keep his eye on the prize. And, boy, did he get the prize. When his song “Ordinary People” was getting attention two inspiring people called him on the same day. They were Magic Johnson and Oprah. He realized then that he had done something right.

A couple of years after, he met his wife Chrissy Teigen for whom he wrote the song “All of Me”. He continues in the interview that he come home to her after recording it and sang it in her ear. She cried. The song became the third best-selling song of 2014 with 12.3 million equivalents units worldwide.

People Magazine’s Sexiest Men began in 1985. The prestigious list started with Mel Gibson, and now includes John F. Kennedy Jr., Tom Cruise, Denzel Washington, Channing Tatum, Chris Hemsworth, and last year’s recipient, Idris Alba. Whether you like it or not, John Legend is People’s Sexiest Man and his addition to the list makes it, in our opinion, even more legendary.
