The LEGACY Concert Brings Generations of Pianists to MSO, a celebration of musical tradition and mentorship, will take place on January 25, 2026, Sunday, 7:30 PM, at the Proscenium Theater, Rockwell, Makati City, renowned for its beautiful acoustics. Presented by the Manila Symphony Orchestra Foundation Inc. and The HSTL Foundation, the benefit performance unites two generations of pianists, Carmencita Sipin-Aspiras and Inna Montesclaros, with the Manila Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Maestro Darrell Ang, offering audiences a rich blend of piano and orchestral music.

The concert highlights the piano as a bridge between generations. Carmencita Sipin-Aspiras, whose career began with her orchestral debut at age 10, earned a Philippine government scholarship to the Vienna Musik Hochschule and completed her Concert Artist Diploma. She has performed across Europe, the Philippines, and the United States. German critics lauded her as “a pianist of extraordinary capabilities and refinement of taste,” a description that continues to define her artistry.

Sharing the stage is Inna Montesclaros, a multi-awarded Filipina pianist who made her premier recital at age 8 and orchestral debut at 11 with the Manila Symphony Orchestra. Known for her warm tone and sincere musicality, Montesclaros embodies a new generation of Filipino pianists shaped by early training and disciplined artistry.

The Manila Symphony Orchestra concert features works by Johannes Brahms and Frédéric Chopin, balancing orchestral grandeur with piano intimacy. Highlights include Brahms’ Academic Festival Overture, solo piano works performed by Sipin-Aspiras, and Brahms’ Piano Concerto No. 2, with Montesclaros as soloist. Chopin’s Nocturne in E-flat Major and Barcarolle in F-sharp Major provide lyrical contrast and emotional depth.

Founded in 1926, the Manila Symphony Orchestra is one of Asia’s oldest orchestras. Proceeds from this benefit concert support the MSO Foundation’s Basilio Manalo Scholarship Program, nurturing the next generation of Filipino musicians.

Tickets are available at Ticketworld, with special discounts for students, senior citizens, and PWDs. LEGACY is a rare opportunity to experience classical music in Manila, where two generations of pianists share artistry, heritage, and mentorship in one unforgettable evening.
