Following its critically acclaimed premiere at the inaugural SXSW London, Stans, the new documentary produced by Eminem, will receive a limited global theatrical release beginning August 7, 2025. The film will be shown exclusively at AMC Theatres in the United States through August 10, and will open internationally on the same date.

Directed by Emmy-winning filmmaker and investigative journalist Steven Leckart, Stans offers an unvarnished and compelling portrait of Eminem’s decades-long career as seen through the lens of his most devoted fans. At once intimate and expansive, the documentary weaves together stylized recreations, archival footage, and personal interviews to explore the evolving relationship between the notoriously private artist and his global fan base.
The film takes its title and thematic core from Eminem’s 2000 single “Stan,” a haunting narrative about a fictional fan whose obsession spirals into tragedy. The term “stan” entered the Oxford English Dictionary in 2017 and has since become cultural shorthand for extreme fandom. In Stans, real-life admirers—whose lives and identities have been deeply shaped by Eminem’s music—step into the foreground, their stories echoing the themes of isolation, defiance, and redemption that run throughout the artist’s work.
AMC Theatres will screen the film in over 135 locations in the U.S., offering at least two showings daily during the engagement. The documentary will also receive an awards-qualifying run at AMC Empire 25 in New York City. Ticket pricing will vary by location; the film is excluded from AMC Stubs A-List and discount programs.
Trafalgar Releasing will oversee international distribution, with screenings planned in more than 1,600 theaters across over 50 territories. Additional details, including international ticket availability, will be posted at stansmovie.com on July 24 at 2 p.m. BST.
The project is produced by Eminem, Paul Rosenberg, Stuart Parr, Antoine Fuqua, Tony DiSanto, and David Schiff, in collaboration with DIGA Studios, Shady Films, Fuqua Films, Interscope Films, and MTV Entertainment Studios.
