The group was formed on camera during Simon Cowell: The Next Act, produced by Box to Box Films and Syco Entertainment and released worldwide on 10 December 2025. Across six episodes, Simon Cowell selected the final lineup from more than a thousand hopefuls, following every stage of the process, from open auditions to choreography sessions and early recordings. He was supported by a high-profile creative team including Robert “RAab” Stevenson, Kamille, Poo Bear, Julian Bunetta, and Savan Kotecha, whose guidance helped shape the band.

Every member brings a strong musical background. Cruz performed as young Michael Jackson in the West End’s Motown: The Musical and now leads percussion. Danny discovered music while struggling at school, later appearing on The Voice Kids in 2023, and plays guitar. Nicolas represented Portugal at Junior Eurovision and is also a guitarist. Hendrick, from Walsall, has written and performed his own music since his mid-teens and plays guitar, bass, and piano. Josh built a following on Instagram through covers and original songs and plays guitar and drums. Sean sang soprano with the Irish National Opera in Dublin and plays guitar, piano, and harmonica. John, a former chorister at Rochester Cathedral, was preparing for Grade 8 Clarinet and Piano before turning down a role in Paddington: The Musical to join the band.

Simon Cowell said: “I’m not sure if this band found me or if it was the other way around however either way I am so happy the boys have a chance to do what they love. 7 genuine, talented, humble boys who walked in to meet me. I believe in them and I really like them. I wish them all true happiness doing something they love”

Louis Bloom, President of Island EMI Label Group, added: “It’s a huge joy and privilege working once again with Simon… The guys have great voices , incredible energy and are an absolute pleasure to work with…”

Inclusive, multi-instrumental, and shaped by global influences, December 10 present a modern British boyband ready for the next chapter. As the group says: “We want to make amazing music and hopefully give people something they’ve been waiting for – something for 2026 that’s bringing something a bit different. We want to show people that the British boyband is back… with a bang!”
