HBO Max has released the official trailer and key art for Season 2 of The Pitt, signaling the return of one of television’s most acclaimed modern medical dramas. The Max Original series is produced by John Wells Productions and Warner Bros. Television, created by R. Scott Gemmill and starring Noah Wyle.
The Emmy®-winning drama will premiere Thursday, January 8 at 9:00 p.m. ET on HBO Max. The 15-episode season will debut weekly, with the season finale scheduled for Thursday, April 16, continuing the show’s steady release strategy.

Set inside a modern hospital in Pittsburgh, The Pitt offers a grounded and realistic look at the pressures facing healthcare workers in the United States today. The series examines life on the front lines of medicine, focusing on professionals navigating emotional strain, ethical dilemmas, and high-stakes decisions in an increasingly complex healthcare system.
Wyle returns as Dr. Michael “Robby” Robinavitch, leading an ensemble cast that includes Patrick Ball, Katherine LaNasa, Supriya Ganesh, Fiona Dourif, Taylor Dearden, Isa Briones, Gerran Howell, Shabana Azeez, and Sepideh Moafi. Season two continues the character-driven approach that helped the series gain critical acclaim.
Behind the scenes, The Pitt is executive produced by Gemmill alongside Emmy® winner John Wells, Noah Wyle, Erin Jontow, Joe Sachs, Simran Baidwan, and Michael Hissrich. Wells brings a long track record of acclaimed television, including “ER,” “Shameless,” and “The West Wing.”
The first season, which premiered in January 2025, received 13 Emmy® nominations and won five awards, including Outstanding Drama Series. Noah Wyle and Katherine LaNasa earned their first Emmy wins for lead and supporting performances, respectively, alongside a win for Outstanding Casting. The series also secured nominations from the Golden Globe Awards and Critics Choice Awards.
Season two will be available to stream in American Sign Language (ASL) beginning with the premiere, with interpretation provided by James “Joey” Cavalry, Amelia Hensley, and Stephanie Nogueras. Season one will also be released in ASL starting December 21.
An official companion video podcast will stream on HBO Max following each episode, offering additional context and discussion for viewers.
