Apple TV+ has released the official trailer for Hijack season 2, confirming the return of the thriller series starring and executive produced by Idris Elba, a SAG Award winner and Emmy Award nominee.
The eight-episode season premieres globally on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, on Apple TV+. The first episode launches on that date, with new episodes released weekly through March 4, 2026. The series is created by George Kay and Jim Field Smith.
Season 2 moves the story to Germany, introducing a tense new scenario. A Berlin underground train and its passengers are taken hostage, putting hundreds of lives at risk. While authorities above ground scramble to contain the crisis, the emergency unfolds inside the train. Sam Nelson, played by Elba, is on board, where critical decisions could determine the outcome.
Hijack is produced by 60Forty Films and Idiotlamp Productions. Executive producers include Jamie Laurenson, Hakan Kousetta, and Tom Nash for 60Forty Films, alongside Kay and Field Smith for Idiotlamp Productions. Field Smith also serves as lead director for the season.
