Apple TV has renewed Platonic for a third season, extending the run of the acclaimed comedy led and executive produced by Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne. The announcement follows a strong season-two debut that opened with a 100% Certified Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Critics labeled Rogen and Byrne “the perfect match,” pointing to the show’s “sensational physical comedy” and “wildly funny banter,” while also describing the series as “one of television’s best half-hour comedies.”

Series co-creators Nicholas Stoller and Francesca Delbanco welcomed the renewal, saying, “We couldn’t be more excited to get back into the world of ‘Platonic’ with our amazing partners, Rose and Seth and Sony and Apple.”
Apple TV’s head of programming, Matt Cherniss, underscored the chemistry at the center of the show. “‘Platonic’ is proof there is no duo better at making us belly laugh at midlife crises than Seth and Rose,” he said. He noted the creative growth behind the latest season, adding, “Nick and Francesca accomplished the rare feat of taking the show to the next level in season two, and, along with our partners at Sony, we can’t wait to see what they cook up for season three.”
The comedy follows two former best friends who reconnect in midlife, a reunion that quickly disrupts their routines in humorous ways. Season two revisits the pair as they navigate work pressures, weddings, and partners in crisis, testing their ability to support each other as their lives collide. The ensemble includes Luke Macfarlane and Carla Gallo, with guest appearances by Aidy Bryant, Kyle Mooney, Beck Bennett, and Milo Manheim.
Platonic is produced by Sony Pictures Television, with Stoller Global Solutions operating under an overall deal. Executive producers include Byrne, Stoller, Delbanco, Conor Welch, Rogen, Evan Goldberg, and James Weaver for Point Grey Pictures.
