Four decades after Bagets captured the spirit of Filipino youth, the iconic barkada returns in Bagets The Musical. The full cast and creative team were unveiled on November 14 at Newport World Resorts’ Grand Bar and Lounge, giving the media an exclusive first look at the highly anticipated theater adaptation of the 1984 classic.
Leading the barkada are Jeff Moses and Sam Shoaf as Topee, the martial arts ace originally portrayed by JC Bonnin; Migo Valid and Milo Cruz as Tonton, the daredevil first played by William Martinez; Noel Comia Jr. and Tomas Rodriguez as Gilbert, the class clown made memorable by Herbert Bautista; KD Estrada and Ethan David as Arnel, the conyo boy originally portrayed by Raymond Lauchengco; and Mico Hendrix Chua and Andres Muhlach as Adie, the baby-faced romantic first brought to life by Aga Muhlach. Each character is given equal prominence in this revival, highlighting the bond of friendship that defined the original film.

Adding heart to the story are the ermats—the mothers of the barkada. The ensemble brings the energy of the ’80s to the stage. The female ensemble includes Ava Santos, Sam Marasigan, Brigitta Marilla, Yani Lopez, Yna Arbiol, Andrea Babierra, Jana Baniasa, Misha Fabian, Mia Micucci, Air Paz-Pablico, Abi Sulit-Racho, Ada Tayao, and Abegail Turiano. The male ensemble features Gie Onida as Father, joined by Jon Abella, Ivan Arboladura, Roi Calilong, Carlos Canlas, Jay Cortez, Moi Gealogo, Gerald Magallanes, John Moran, Arnel Sablas, Vyen Villanueva, and Dan Wesley.
Guiding the production are Director Maribel Legarda, Writer Jmee Katanyag, Musical Director Vince Lim, and Choreographer JM Cabling, supported by a full team of designers and technical specialists.
