Grammy-nominated artist Demi Lovato has released her latest single, “Kiss,” following weeks of intense fan demand and viral buzz. The track, which blends flirty lyrics with a dance-pop sound, is part of her upcoming ninth studio album, It’s Not That Deep, arriving October 24 via DLG Recordings/Island Records.

Produced by Zhone (Kylie Minogue, Troye Sivan, Kesha), “Kiss” embraces the album’s carefree theme: letting loose, having fun, and enjoying the moment. The song first gained attention when Lovato teased it during a live set at LOOSE in Los Angeles on August 1. A second preview at her PAPER Magazine cover celebration in New York City on September 15 helped push the track to over 60 million combined views.

The lyric, “it’s not that deep, unless you want it to be,” anchors the track and also serves as inspiration for the album’s title.

The music video, directed by 91 Rules, brings the song’s playful message to life. In the visual, Lovato encourages those around her to embrace joy and connection — all while keeping things light and unfiltered.

“Kiss” follows two previously released singles: “Fast,” an electro-pop track, and “Here All Night,” a high-energy anthem. All three are featured on It’s Not That Deep, a project that marks a return to the dance-pop sound central to many of Lovato’s most iconic songs.

To celebrate the new release, Lovato hosted an event at The Abbey in West Hollywood. Guests helped unveil the full album tracklist by holding up their phones and requesting songs for the DJ to play.

The release also comes after Lovato’s appearance at Paris Fashion Week, where she attended shows by Vivienne Westwood, Messika, Ann Demeulemeester, and Coperni, as well as events including the Nylon x Demi Lovato party and the Business of Fashion 500 Gala.
