Mariah Carey is serving up a new summer anthem with her latest single “Sugar Sweet,” featuring Shenseea and Kehlani, released Friday, July 25.
Following Carey’s Instagram post announcing the song’s release, Kehlani was quick to share her excitement in the comments. “i cannot believe it. im so grateful i don’t have words truly. i love you!!!!!!!” she wrote.

“Sugar Sweet” is the second offering from Carey’s upcoming 16th studio album, Here For It All, which arrives September 26 via gamma. It follows June’s “Type Dangerous,” a slick, sample-heavy track that also came with a remix EP featuring big names like Busta Rhymes, Method Man and Redman, Big Sean, DJ Snake, and Luísa Sonza.
Earlier this month, Carey sat down with Zane Lowe and Ebro Darden at Apple Music Studios in Los Angeles during a special broadcast celebrating Apple Music’s 10th anniversary. She confirmed that Here For It All is finished and shared her excitement about the new single.
“It’s very summery. I like the beat as well,” she said, hinting that the album will include “11 or 12 songs,” and of course, “some Mariah ballads.”
The new album marks Carey’s return to the studio after seven years. Her last album, Caution, featured collaborations with Ty Dolla \$ign, Slick Rick, Blood Orange, and Gunna. It was well-received and added another strong chapter to her long-running career.
