Lionsgate has released the first official trailer for Good Fortune, the feature directorial debut of Aziz Ansari. The film will premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in September and open in theaters on October 17, 2025.
Written and directed by Ansari, Good Fortune features a strong ensemble cast led by Keanu Reeves, Seth Rogen, and Ansari himself. Keke Palmer and Sandra Oh also join the lineup, bringing additional depth and energy to the story’s dynamic.

“In Good Fortune, a well-meaning but rather inept angel named Gabriel (Reeves) meddles in the lives of a struggling gig worker (Ansari) and a wealthy venture capitalist (Rogen),” reads the official synopsis.
The film reunites Ansari with longtime collaborator Alan Yang (Parks and Recreation), who produces alongside Anthony Katagas (12 Years a Slave).
Reeves, best known for his dramatic and action roles, takes an uncommon turn in comedy, while Ansari returns to the observational humor and social themes that shaped his earlier television work. Styled as a screwball comedy, Good Fortune explores class, fate, and the unintended consequences of divine intervention.
While the film is confirmed for release in the United States and other select markets on October 17, an international rollout, including the Philippines, has yet to be announced.
